One of Our Founders

Mary Hepburn works in stoneware pottery, creating mostly functional pieces, and the shop is well stocked with bowls of all sizes, mugs and small pitchers. As a founding member of the crafts cooperative, she has been involved with the Jelly Bean Tree in several capacities since 1975, serving as treasurer, jury member, publicist and shop volunteer.

Educator

A pottery teacher at Vermont Academy since 1971, she is proud of the fact that several of her students have gone on to become professional potters.

Her current students have recently completed a project of making soup bowls for the local Empty Bowl Dinner. She has also taught young children at Main Street Arts, where she works in clay once a month with The Ex-Sighted Artists group.
